Episode 2: Big Five
Lion, rhino, leopard, elephant and buffalo. These are the Big Five of Africa. All five are among the most endangered species in the world. Centuries of hunting by landowners and colonial masters has led to it. The Big Five were seen as the pinnacle of the hunt, the trophy as a symbol of a true hunter.
Today they are protected. Beginning to the middle of last century landowners in Africa have recognized that the slaughter of the animals can not go further. Reserves for the breeding of the animals were the result.
