铁娘子乐队是"英国重金属新浪潮"的领导者，现已是重金属乐队的杰出代表乐队。
铁娘子乐队1976年组建于伦敦，由贝司手Steve Harris，主音吉他Dave Murray,主唱Paul Di’anno，鼓手Doung Sampson组成。乐队以一种名叫"Eddie"的怪物作为乐队的标志。
铁娘子的音乐是尖锐的吉他，咆哮和演唱和多变的节奏的重度混合，深受"深紫"和"黑色安息日"及朋克音乐的影响。
