Daniel Barenboim (him. Daniel Barenboim, 15 November 1942, Buenos Aires) - Israeli conductor and pianist. As a pianist, he made his debut in 1952 in Vienna and Rome. Performed in ensemble with violinist Adolf Bush, pianist Arthur Rubinstein played with such conductors as Wilhelm Furtwängler and Otto Klemperer. Creativity Barenboim has been widely recognized public. He - honorary doctor of several universities in the world, has won several awards and state awards. Barenboim - a six-time winner of the "Grammy" (1976, 1991, 2002 - as a conductor, 1990, 1994, 2001 - as a pianist). In 2004, he received the Wolf Prize in Israel, which is awarded to scientists and artists "for achievements in the interest of humanity and the cause of peace between peoples," in 2007 he was awarded the Imperial Prize of Japan. Was an honorable-bearer of the Olympic flag at the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
