About the film: The plot of the ballet - old German legend of the beautiful princess Odette, who was transformed into a swan sorcerer Rothbart. The first staging of Tchaikovskys music was created by Julius Rezingerom libretto by Vladimir Begichev and possibly Vasily Geltser. Opinions about the source of inspiration Pyotr diverge. In Germany, firmly believe that the composer wrote the music inspired by the lake, located in the foothills of the Alps near the town of Fussen. In Russia, it is assumed that the prototype for the ballet became a Votkinsky factory pond, which came out of the window at home Tchaikovsky, or a small pond near the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow. Since then, the ballet is set thousands of times in hundreds of scenes of the world, but to this day, most ballet companies prefer the version created by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov for the Imperial Ballet Theatre and was first presented to the public January 15, 1895 at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. Specifically for this production the original score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was amended by the then chief conductor of the Imperial Theatre Italian Riccardo Drigo. There is not a ballerina dancer and such who would not dream to go to the image of Odette-Odile and Prince.
